Manipuri Students’ Federation (MSF) is a studentled organization envision for an equitable educational set up in and around the state of Manipur. The federation strongly believes on working under its motto: Learn, excel, and transmitsince the beginning of its inception i.e. on 13thOctober, 1998. Working in line with the MSF motto has helped the MSFidentify and foster the dynamic human force with diverse potentials.
The Federation also aims at building people’s integrity and work in common issues which affects the whole community. MSF strives to achieve this goal through uniting the masses on the ground of promoting mass education in Manipur. MSF will always stand for the advancement of the people, development pattern of the society, ensuring social and economic equity and lead a prosperous and dignified life. Hence, MSF raises the slogan “EIKHOI LAIRIK NINGTHINA TAMSI” meaning let us study well.
MSF headquarter is located at Imphal west, Manipur with its branches at major districts of Manipur. The federation has its place at Manipur University and colleges too, playing an important role for the students’ welfare. All the branches and units of MSF are the entity of MSF head quarter;all they work in correspondence with the MSF headquarter. Members of MSF are actively participated at the college and university students’ election.
The federation is run by a federal Executive Committee elected under the provision of the federal constitution with its preamble. Role, responsibility and functions of the Executive Council members are purely under the federal constitution of the federation.
Since its inception, MSF had been involving in various social issues ranging from drug related issues, Human rights issue, Environmental issues and bringing Quality education in Manipur. MSF always stand pivot in leading the masses.
MSF being a student community in Manipur had recognized Global Warming or Environmental Crisis as a global phenomenon that entails people around the globe join hands to combat the issue. Main root cause for the environmental crisis is nothing but the greed of capitalists. The adverse consequenceof- over exploitation of world resources by capitalists’ has an enormous impact on the ecological balance of entire nations.The current scenario of the exploitative nature of capitalists had impelled MSF join hand at the global campaign to restore the ecological balance and bring sustainable development. At the local level, MSF had organized several campaigns in relate to environmental crisis since 2018. MSF in co-ordination with Blooming Manipur had planted flowers and trees at the heart of Imphal city, Khwairamband market, followed by the “Sanghallasi Koubru Chingdol” and on the “World Environment day”. With a realization of the continuing global politics and environmental crisis, MSF not only resorting to flower and tree plantation on the occasion of ‘World environment day’ and local event etc., but have started addressing the importance of political consciousness among the peoples of Manipur. MSF had initiated a political discourse on this matter at the social platform.
